30 Pounds Gone!!!

I finally reached my 30 lbs loss!! It took a long time and felt like I wasn't going any where. I just kept with it and worked hard and finally got there.  I was at a plateau for a few months. So I was so excited when I FINALLY hit 30 lbs , 209 to 179! I am actually a bit less than that today, whoo hoo!

The weekends are still REALLY hard for me. There are family gathering, friends, movie nights etc that lead to having treats.

I was making cookies last night for someone and I found myself not thinking and dipping into the cookie dough! I think my self control is about a 70%. There is a lot of room to improve. I do want to allow myself one treat per week but I have to make sure that doesn't lead to more treats being eaten.

Been A While

So I got busy with life and forgot that I started this blog. Whoops! As of today I am down 26 lbs. Still along way to go but that is a good start. I am trying to eat as well as I can, but feel like I can always do better.

I found out that one of my friends from work sells ADVOCARE products. I have heard about Advocare through skinnymeg.com. I have often wondered what Meg was talking about when she said "I love my Spark". I had no idea what that was. Well now I do! And I love it too. It is an energy drink that is full of vitamin B and others and of course caffeine. I like to take it in the afternoon to give me energy through late afternoon and evening. Also I have heard about Advocare's 10 day herbal cleanse. So since I knew someone that sells it, I had to try it. I am only to day 3. We will see how I liked it after day 10.

I have realized that it is so much easier waking up at 5:25 am to get the the  5:45 class at the gym than it is to save the workout for 9:00 pm. I am ready for bed by then and it is hard to get the motivation to exercise for an hour. Here is my routine right now:

Monday: 3x3 class
Tues.     : P90X class
Wed      : Body Sculpt class
Thurs    : Yoga class
Friday   : Insanity and Ab Ripper class
Sat.       : What ever I feel like: Spin class, Insanity or random at the gym.

All at 5:45 am. I seem to watch what I eat more when I exercise in the morning. What are you favorite classes, DVD's or exercises?

Bear Lake

We were able to go to Bear Lake with my family and had a wonderful time until I saw some of the pictures of myself! UGH, no one should ever see me in a one piece with out a cover. Not sure what I was thinking. Well at least they are good motivation, right? That aside, it was a wonderful relaxing weekend and really enjoyed being with our kids, nieces and nephews.
We got rained on every afternoon but it was ok, we were already wet. But when the lightning and thunder came it was time to go back to the cabin.

The last day there was the best. Wonderful sunshine and clear water. We finally found the PERFECT beach. Unlike the one above, full of mud.
One of my daughters and I went out on the paddle board, that was really fun. I look a little scared.

Bear Lake it one of our favorite places to go.  We have a 5 hour drive there but totally worth it.

I know I have a long way to go to get to my goal but 20 lb loss is a good start. Here's to a lot more work!

I HATE THE MIRROR!

As of June 12, 2013 I had lost my first 20 lbs. Then I went to a four day family reunion at Bear Lake and came home and had gained about 3 back!!! URG! For some reason when I look in the mirror this week I look and feel extra big. I forget that I HAVE lost weight. I think we get use to the way we are looking and then it isn't good enough any more. It sure makes this journey feel extra long.

I have started INSANITY workout with my husband. We are one week into it. I love it and hate it at the same time! It is so stinkin' hard. It helps that we do it together before bed every night. I hear about a lot of people that have tried this workout and gave up quickly. IT KICKS BUTT!! This is a 60 day program. I really hope I see some great results at the end of those 2 months. I need to start seeing results or it is discouraging!

I LOVE THE OUTDOORS

I really just wanted to be outside this last Friday. I felt like the kids were neglected the last week while I was at work so much. My friend told me about an awesome pool in Payson. That is an hour and a half away. Well we made the trip. (Our city pool sucks here)
It was well worth it. We spent four hours there soaking up the beautiful sun! We all got a little sunburned. The spray sunblock didn't work very well.

Me and my 8 yr old baby! Oh boy have I got a long way to go! I have to tell myself not to be too hard on myself. I will get there!!Also, the same friend that told me about the pool mentioned a fun small hike; Grotto Trail in Payson Canyon. So we had to go check it out. IT WAS GORGEOUS!   



It was a green luscious trail next to a creek and we had to cross over tree logs over the creek. It was only 80 degrees up there. PERFECT!
The trail led to a cave/cove with a waterfall. Pretty amazing!



I love the outdoors and can't wait to come back here and do some camping!

This is one goal  of mine, to be more active not just for me and my weight but it is so good for the kids.

Weekends Suck!

(June 23) Why is it so hard to stick to your healthy eating plan when you go to a big family gathering? We had a 4 day family reunion this weekend. I started out ok, eating less of what was offered and then going and getting my own fruit and veggies to snack on. Well that didn't last long. My healthy snacks sat there while I gave in and ate the junk that was offered. It tells my that I am not very strong yet with my diet

Great Workout!

This is an awesome workout that I found on Pinterest. I crank my music up and enjoy the sweat it brings.

I am trying to go to the gym for the 6:00 am class and th 6:45 pm class. If I can't make it to the evening class I do this workout. It kicks my but and only takes less than 15 min. Make sure you keep hydrated!

My First 5K Planned

I have always wanted to be a runner but at my weight it is hard. This September there is a 5K that I am SO excited about. It is the Color Me Rad in St. George. This one is where you get sprayed with colored cornstarch. We are trying to get a team from work together to do it with me. I need to do everything I can now to get ready for it. Some co-workers want to just walk it, which is fine, but I think it would be a great accomplishement if I could run it. I will let you know how it goes.

Motivation

I have been finding stories lately about women who have lost a ton of weight. I am always interested in how they did it. It is great motivation! There is one I just read last night about skinnymeg.com I think it was. She started aroung 220 lbs. and now has lost 115 lbs! That is crazy! It is good to read stories like this now and then to keep you on the right path.

My favorite saying right now is: "YOU'LL NEVER LEAVE WHERE YOU ARE UNTIL YOU DECIDE WHERE YOU'D RATHER BE!"

Jillian Michaels from The Biggest Loser said, "Slow and steady wins the race." The old fasioned way of losing weight is the best. Eat right and exercise. Sometimes that is easier said than done, but true! I have comitted myself for the summer, starting today, to excercise morning and night. I have a gym pass and should use it as much as possible. They have great classes and they kick my butt! That is what I need.

Down My First 10 lbs!

I weighed in this morning and 199.0lbs. I wait and weigh at work. I think our scales are more acurate. Therefore I am fully dressed and had eaten breakfast. So it may read a little higher that first thing in the morning undressed. Oh well. That 14 mile bike ride and exercising twice a day is paying off!

When you first register you put in your current weight and your weight goal. Check it out. I love it. They also have a mobile device app. So when I am not near a computer I can still log my activity.
